About Us

A few years into our business we realized that selling Fashion Fabrics and Haberdashery wasn’t enough to keep us in business, so we started classes to teach people to sew. Our eldest daughter was a teacher and helped to set up a program called “Kidz Can Sew” to teach children to sew. This has been so successful we continue to run these in the School Holidays ever since. At that time we also added Patchwork and Quilting fabrics and notions and this continues to be part of our businesss

In 2012, we purchased the Curtain side of the business from a shop that had closed down and moved to our present premises, 59 Normanby Street. We then changed our name to DARGAVILLE SEWING & CURTAIN CENTRE. We added a large classroom to continue running classes and also added Wool and knitting supplies.

Location

The thriving town of Dargaville is situated on the edge of the beautiful Northern Wairoa River. People criticize our river, but owning a Launch has enabled us to discover a wonderful playground on the Kaipara Harbour. Dargaville looks amazing from the river.

Our large store is situated on State Highway 12, 59 Normanby Street, Dargaville, in the CBD, with parking right outside the door.
